When toxic, abusive people deny the damage they have done to you, a part of your validity and integrity are instantly diminished. It is up to you to validate yourself. Abusive people will deny everything and can, at times, make you believe that you are in the wrong and not them. The refusal to apologize or even to acknowledge they have a problem in the first place is highly toxic and always hurtful.
